I have a 1996 chevy half ton 2 wheel drive, 305 motor, with 141,000 miles on it. The engine will turn over, but will not start. I sprayed starting fluid in the the air intake, and it started and cutoff immediately. I hear the fuel pump when I turn the ignition on. Can you check the fuel pressure without the motor running? And what should the pressure be?

Yes you can check the pressure, all you need to do is turn the key on to energize the relay which turns on the pump and sends pressure to the intake, the pressure should be 55-61 psi and hold, if it does not hold and drops withing 15 minutes you may have a regulator issue, if you have no pressure and the pump has power the pump is faulty let us know
