I have a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Z71 it has about 76,000 miles and it's a 5.3 liter engine.
I recently changed the starter and reconnected the battery and now the truck won't start. It turns over but it won't start. I think it has something to do with the anti-theft device disabling the fuel system. Is there a reset button for the alarm? Or could it be a bigger problem?

Try leaving the key in the run position for 20 minutes without starting, then turn back to lock and try and start it, this will rule out the anti theft.

Jim

if this doesn't work let us know.

Most likely the theft system needs to be reset as when a module like the BCM is replaced. Unfortunately this can only be done with a proper scan tool capable of doing it.

What happens at times when unhooking the battery, the BCM thinks someone is trying to steal it so it shuts down to prevent this.

I highly expect that this can be resolved quickly by a dealer or shop with the proper scan tool.

See the attachments for more details. Thanks

I believe the crankshaft angle sensor has not plugged in, or the wiring connector was damaged in the repair.

Here is a video to help you see what I am talking about:

Please go over this guide and report back.
