I have a 2003 chevy 2500 truck. It was running fine and I parked it and came back out to it about 20 minutes later and it would not start. Insert the key, and turn the ignition, and dash lights come on like normal, but, when I turn the key, nothing happens, except when I release the key, sounds like a whining noise, or actually a small motor noise coming from the dash panel. May be normal though. I do know that the ignition relay is picking up, and at the time of my basic troubleshooting I had a pair of jumper cables on my truck from another car, so, I don't think it was the battery or anything with relays or so. Also, I crawled underneath to make sure the starter wires were still in tact, and best I could tell, it was all in tact. So, as I was doing all this, I noticed that my indicator on showing what gear that I am in on the dash was indicating that I was in 2nd gear. But, I know it was in park, so, I tried it again, each time moving my gear shifter to each different gear, R, OD, 3, 2, and 1. But, still nothing. Can anyone offer me some help here. Thank you so much.
