I just got a new fuse block put on by the Chevy Dealership. A few days after I got it back I went to start my truck and I lost power to everything. When I turn the key to the position right before you start it my fuel pump kicked on and everything was normal, but when I turned it all the way over to start it that is when everything went dead. I went and checked voltage on my battery and the battery is good and so are the battery terminal connections. I went and tried to start the truck like five minutes later and it started right up. I don't want it to do this again. What could it have been to make my truck loose power to everything.

Hello -

If everything went dead as you said.....I would check my battery terminals really good to make sure all is well there.

Next, I would take it back to the dealership....... If they just replaced the fuse block... Then obviously this is electrical....... Not like an ignition switch going bad etc.....

I decided to look at the wires going into the fuse block to see if I would find a loose wire, I found that there is a wire to feed my KC fog lights had been spliced onto the ignition wire. If this was causeing the problem would cutting out that wire feeding the KC lights be good enough or would I need to replace the ignition fuse or switch in case it got worn out from the other wire.

Hello -

I would not have that coming off my ignition anyway.....

Could it cause a problem..... Possible....... Is this something that was there or the dealer did when they replaced the box?

You don't have to replace the fuses..... They are very inexpensive so if that gave you a peace of mind... Then I would replace them.......
