Truck will not start in cold, seems like you have to let off key from cranking position and it might start if you use a little starting fluid it fires then warmed up completely then it starts pretty good. New fuel pump 55# press continuously 60 when you accel RPM, new crank sensor, cam positioning sesor new fuel pump passed emissions, dont see anything on scope o deg timing clean fuel filter checked, coil, cap, rotor, wires puzzled Mike D

Recheck the fuel pressure, test the coolant temperature sensor, fuel pump relay and idle air control valve.

Ihave worked on cars my whole life my neighbor is a certified mech, snap-on scanner shows everything is perfect just passed emmision, snap-on scope shows nothing buti can only explain it to you like this, you remember when the old style resistors would go and the car wouldnt start in the cranking position but if you let go the key you could catch it to start thats whats happening, but if you press auto start on key controller and mist ether it starts, almost like no fuel while in cranking position. 55# constant pressure 60 when acceleratorated, coolant sensor working properly, fuel filter clean, relay working, cap, rotor, wires perfect, new crank sesor, new cam positioning sesor and fuel pressure stands at 55# when off, im stumped. Thanks Mike D.

Guys the manuel I looked up fuel pump pressure said minimum 55# pressure for 5.7 votec it jumps to 62-63 I don"t see that giving me a problem starting when cold the old fuel pump was exactly thye same. Why does the truck start when you let go the key in cranking position thats were I feel the problem is ! What can cause the injectors not opening as much as they should on the crank than the ignition just on?

! What can cause the injectors not opening as much as they should on the crank than the ignition just on? The computer decides how long the injectors come on by using parameter sensors such as the coolant temperature, oxygen and other sensors.

Also test the ignition switch
