My truck starts and shuts off right away. This happens more than acceptable. The security light has been on a lot too. If I wait 20 minutes, it starts right up. It seems like the fuel pump shuts off as part of the security. When it does start, the security light stays on. It is not throwing any codes. Weather does not seem to have an affect on it.

Thanks

Hi:
If the security light stays on, there is a problem with the security system. If you have an extra key, try it. There is a sensor in both the key and the steering column. One may be weak. If the key doesn't work, you will most likely need to have a dealer check it. They have the needed test equipment for the job.

Let me know what you find.

Joe

Thanks Joe. I forgot to mention I have a remote starter and the same thing happens sometimes starting the truck that way.

Hi:
If you have a remote start, that could be causing your problem. With that, you're out of my league. Aftermarket systems, like that, need to go back to where they were installed. There are so many different brands and types.

Regardless, if you had it installed, contact the people who did the work, and see what they say.

Let me know what they say.
