I have a serious rattling noise coming from my front left around the steering. I can feel the steering wheel shake when it rattles. I checked the shocks, bushings, cv's, but when I grabed the steering rod and shook it back and forth, I noticed a little play. What else could I check that you know of. Or could the problem be in the steering rod? Thaks for your time on this matter.

The intermediate steering shaft will need to be replaced. That is a common problem in that year. You might want to check with your local GM DEALER because there may be a RECALL on that problem.

There is a lube kit for it also. This is much cheaper than replacing it.
