Hello Carpros - I have a 2001 Chevy 1500 4wd and I am experiencing some rough, almost like a dry grinding feeling in the left front tire area when turning in 2wd and 4wd. I have quickly checked the cv boots and don't see any splits or any grease and the tires are factory size. It doesn't pop like a typical cv joint in a 2wd car. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There is accually a service bulletin ref. # 01-04-18-001f. It states that there is a ratio variance from the front and rear and you will hear noises. There some fixed the dealer can do to help lower the noise but it is at your expence it is not a recall just a service bulletin. Hope this helps.

This is not typical noise heard while driving. It just started this morning and is a "creeking" sound coming from the left front tire when making slow turns (i.E. Into a driveway or into a parking lot) and the noise is not heard while driving at normal speeds or in normal curves of a road.

I know that as it states in the bulletin. Now if you like you could check the tie rod ends and the sway bar links and bushing and control arm bushings and ball joints and hub assembly and such just to make sure there is nothing going on there. What I call do a front end shake down. Let me know what you find and we will take it from there.
