1978 Chevy Silverado It just will not start

1978 Chevy Silverado 45000 miles

We have this 1978 Chevrolet Silverado that has been remodeled. Its got a big block 502 brand new interior, but it will not start. We got a new battery, and it won't even turn over it just makes like a click noise we cant figure out what is wrong with it can you help

Hold key to start position -Check for power at the starter solenoid purple wire-if its there-replace the starter-not there backtrack it to the neutral safety switch and ignition switch-

Check your batter cables, at the battery and the starter and ground.
