Hello,
This is somewhat of a common issue with many of these 6 cylinder GM engines.
This typically happens when you have moisture in side the distributor or the coil pack.
Usually a poor seal under the distributor cap and/or the coil pack, lets moisture inside.
You should able to clean out the distributor and replace the cap with new o-ring.
If there is moisture inside the coil you will have to replace it.
Be sure to inspect the ignition control module as well.
