2001 Chevy S-10 6 cyl Automatic 105000 miles

it cranks over but won't start untill it cools down

Welcome to the forum. If you have the spider fuel system, I'd use a gage and check fuel pressure. Pressure is critical. Engine cranking the pump gets battery voltage, engine running that is alternator voltage, there is a difference. You can check for primary voltage at the injector/s, if you have a meter or anything that will react to a dc pulse, you can check for injector pulse.
