2001 chevy monte carlo has 52,000 miles on it and has a 3.8 engine. The radio locks up and the dimmer switch light doesn't light. The amp meter doesn't always work. The air conditioner does not work when this happens.

It sounds like you have a loose ground somewhere in your dash. If you have a manual for your car with an electrical schematic then look at all the problem areas and follow the ground wires back, bet they will all have a common point that they use for a ground. When you find that area is will normally be either loose connection or a dirty or corroded connection. Most automotive intermittent electrical problems can be traced down to either a loose or corroded connection. Hope this helps
