1995 Chevy Monte Carlo My Car Wont Start

For the past three weeks my car hasn't been starting unless I try starting it for anywhere between 5 - 40 minutes. Now it just won't start at all. It's makes an attempt to start but it just won't start. Also when it has started the lights go dim, then bright, then dim again. It's really hard to get this car moving. What in the world could be wrong with it?

Do you mean it cranks and wont start? Check for spark and fuel pressure when it wont start, needs them both and it will give us a place to begin. Check engine light on? If it is, we need to scan the computer for any codes it might have stored
