I have replaced several things on my car such as the fuel filter, spark plugs, and the starter. The car still will not start and I dont want to keep replacing things that dont need to be. What is wrong and why wont it start?

If your saying it cranks good but won't start, have a helper crank it while you visually check for spark at the plugs. If you have spark everywhere, use a gage and check fuel pressure. Some of the national brand auto stores used to loan out a fuel pressure gage. Check for applicable trouble codes.

If it won't even crank, check the starter circuit. Did you try cranking in neutral? Usually there is a purple wire at the starter solenoid, should be hot with key in the crank position, should be wired through the neutral switch. I'm not saying replace anything, do some testing.

Cranking is starter action. To check for spark at the plugs, where applicable, pull a spark plug wire loose. Stick a known good plug or spark tester in the boot. Ground metal part of plug/tester to metal part of engine. Have helper crank it, watch for spark.

Are there any applicable trouble codes?
