1996 Chevy Blazer 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic

We just replaced the fuel pump the, fuel sending unit. The fuel pump unit I replaced had been wierd with a differnt wirring harness, it looked they matched up the wire correctlley colour wise, so when I put on the new wirring harness I matched them to what looks like that correct wirring coulor also. This new harness has the same size wire where as the one I replace had a larger gauge that was bigger then the factory wiring. We go everthing in. It started right up no problem it ran for 30 min. Or so, had a lot more power then it did before. When I got on the road and hit around 50 the gas gauge shot up to full and then the Blazer slowley died.I have not been able to get it to start yet. Do I need to bleed the air out?I check for fuel at the little port that looks like a A.C. Valve, I got very little gas out of it, but after going threw this procces I would get more out each time it would take longer for the gas to stop coming out, at first I only very little gas to dribble out when I had stopped it was coming out a lot better and a lot more, but only pouring a little bit and not spraying like I have seen on other. What do I need to do. My fuel gauge is still stuck on fuel and I know it only has 2 gallons of gas in it. It will not start. Excuse my spelling I am half asleep and have been working on this all day after wating to get the new vent valve in the mail today.

No need for any bleeding
what I would suspect is that you have a wire failure
recheck the connector that was made on them new wires and make sure all in and making a good connection
and or check if have power and ground at the pump plug
