The car usually starts fine. I typically have the problem when I have driven the car a short distance and let the car sit in the hot sun for a while (1 hr.). When I try to start the car, it cranks fine but won't start. If it doesn't start on my first attempt, it will not start until I leave it alone for approx. 10 minutes. Then the car will start fine. I have also had the engine quit while driving. This happens infrequently. But when I try to start it immediately, it will not start. Again, I need to let it set for about 10 min. And it will start right up. I am also getting an infrequent "service engine soon" light but I can't tie the indicator light event to the engine not starting. I have changed the fuel pump relay but haven't tried anything else. Thanks for your help!

Start with the basics, and work your way up, Last tune up was? Wires plugs ALL filters? If all that is ok, check for a stuck EGR, then test fuel pump pressure, If it won't restart, determine what's missing, the engine needs three things to run, Spark at all plugs, gas to all cylinders, and compression in all cylinders, tho an engine may run lacking one in one cylinder, it won't run very well!

and this one!
Do these tests when it won't start.
