I have a 98 acura tl 3.2l. Recently the heat in the car started to not work. I replaced the water pump, thermostat, radiator, and radiator cap. The car had a little heat but I knew something still wasn't right. Then the car started to shoot white smoke out the tail pipe and burn throught coolant very quickly. So I pulled the spark plugs and sure enough I had a blown head gasket. I repaired the head. Now the car doesnt pour white smoke out the tailpipe and it doesnt seem to be misfiring anymore. But the car is still overheating. These types of vehicles are know to be very difficult to bleed the air out. Could that be my problem that there is still air in the lines? Is there a special way to bleed it?

Hello,

Yes, it is hard to bleed the air out. Here is what I do. Jack the side of the car were the top radiator hose is, Loosen the radiator cap to first notch start engine let warm to temp keep eye on temp gauge. With cap loose and coolant flowing freely without building pressure once thermostat opens will eventually work out air.
