That will cause the problem. If you go to our homepage under the DIY section, you will find belt routing diagrams. Then you will see how it should be. If you have any trouble, let me know.

What do you need? Also, you should only have one belt. Is that correct? Did you find the belt routing diagrams?

Paula, was the belt on anything? As far as the belt, you should have an automatic belt tensionier. It will pivot one direction to loosen the belt then automatically return to tighten the belt.

No it looks more like the first diagram the belt isn't as big as the one in the diagram.. But the car is a 4 cylinder. The pulleys are set up like this.1 grooved by the alt, 1grooved underneath in the front, 1 big grooved on the bottom towards the backside on the bottom & then the smooth 1 is under next to the one by the alt

Paula, the first pic I sent was for the 4 cyl. Review the video I sent. It shows how to work the self adjuster. It turns on a pivot. Like CJ said, if you upload a pic, we will have a better shot at helping you. Honestly, the worst part is installing the new belt down low.

Let me know what you need.
Joe
PS: If you haven't watched the video, do so. I think it will help.
