My Car wont start. It turns over but it wont catch to run. We have put gas in the car. The alternator is brand new and the battery is only a year old. All the fluids are in there and at the. I think its the fuel system but I need to pinpoint what it is exactly and how to fix it.

Test the basics. Engine cranking, visually check for spark at the plugs. If you have spark everywhere, use a gage and check fuel pressure. Check for trouble codes. At the least, you need an obd2 code reader that will work on your year--make--model. Let us know what you find?

To ckeck for spark at the spark plugs, you pull spark plug wire loose. Use a known good spark plug or spark tester in the plug boot. Ground/touch metal part of tester to metal part of engine. The spark tester usually has a clip that will hold it. It's probably best not to hold anything in your hand, secondary ignition voltage will bite. I hasn't killed me yet, but, I still don't like it. Test with engine cranking.

You can use a fuel pressure gage to check fuel pressure. There should be a schrader valve on the fuel system under the hood. Some of the national brand autostores used to loan out a fuel pressure, tell them what your going to use it on, GM and ford schrader valves, may not be the same thread or whatever.

The autostore also sells obd2 code readers, it plugs into your datalink connector. If you go that way, make sure you read on the package, see if it works on your vehicle.

Another question. What is a schrader valve and where is it? And what is a datalink connector and where is it?

If you have a schrader valve, it should be on the fuel rail. Sorry, I don't have a picture of location. The datalink connector should be on dash below steering column. It should resemble the picture.
