My car has suddenly started leaking oil through the Tappit Pan (valve cover) gasket. It seems the oil is being forced out. I have to put in about 3 pints of oil each day because of the leakage. This enables me to drive to work and return home, a journey of about 12 miles.
About 6 months ago I had this same problem. The tappit pan gasket and plug seals were replaced. Oil still leaked out. The tappit pan had to be tightened more than normal to stem the oil flow. What is causing this oil leak and how do I solve it?
I had an engine overhaul about 5 years ago and a transmission overhaul about 2 years ago.

If you open the oil cap on the valve cover with the engine running, is there a lot of pressure coming out?

I waited until the oil warning light started to blink before putting in a quart of oil. When I started the engine with the oil cap off, I felt a flow of air pressure. I also saw a few sprinkles of oil escape, but no gush. I am not sure how much pressure I should feel, but it was moderate not too strong not too weak.

I forgot to mention before that when I park oil drips to the ground even though the car is no longer moving.

The oil drip is from the leak. As far as the pressure, check to make sure the PCV valve isn't plugged. It should be located on the valve cover. There will be a vacuum line going to it. Make sure the vacuum hose is clean and the PCV valve is good and not plugged.
