I thought the window regulator was bad. I purchased a new one tested it and the window only goes down. I checked the blue and brown wires on the plug and they get voltage one at a time depending on what direction you push the switch. My question am I thinking correctly that each side of the plug operates the direction of the motor, do I possibly have a bad regulator (from Advance Auto) or am I not troubleshooting this properly.

Thanks for any help and/or suggestions.

You are correct. By changing the power supply from one wire to the other, it changes the polarity of the power. Thus, the motor runs two different directions.

If you are getting power to both and the connection to the motor is good, the motor is most likely bad. NOTE: I assume the power is going from one wire to the other when you change directions at the switch.
