I can push the switch down while pushing it back and too the sides and it will roll up. So initially I thought I had a bad switch. I replaced the switch but I have the same problem. All my other windows roll up and down with no issues. What could be the problem?

Hello,

This could be a problem with a loose connection of the brown wire at the connector that connects to the power window switch. In the diagrams down below I have included a wiring diagram of your vehicle's power window circuits with the wire highlighted for you. I have also included a guide for finding intermittent faults and how to inspect electrical connectors as well.

This gidie shows the testing

Please go through these guides and get back to us with what you are able to find out.

Thanks,
Alex

Check and make sure you have the correct voltage going to the motor. Sounds like you do need to replace the motor

My driver side window randomly goes down by itself but then hesitates to go back up. All other windows are working flawlessly. I am thinking the switch is bad and want to replace it myself, but with it being cold now and snowing I do not want it to get stuck in the down position. If I pull the "ACCSRY PWR" breaker, until I can fix it what else will be affected?

As long as the window is not all the way down you could force it up with your hands while someone else operates
the switch.

I have replaced my window switch because drivers side wouldn't work. That fixed it for about 2 mos, now none of my windows will roll down. The window icon on the other window switches lights up but not on the master switch also sometimes it will make a buzzing noise only when pushing the drivers side switch. Tried a new switch & the exact same thing happened.

You could have a few things being the problem. First of all there is a circut breaker called "retained acc. Power" in the L/H fuse box, check that, or swap it with another one to see if that's the issue. You may also have a broken wire in the body to L/F door harness. ( The harness that connects to the door)
I will need to know if this is a 2 or 4 door. And do you have access to a 12 volt test light?

This is to basstech.I have the same issue as the above poster. If I replace the circuit breaker, the windows will work for a while. Sometimes when the windows stops working, I can get the to operate again by opening the door and pushing the window button. Eventually though, the will no longer work and I will get the buzzing noise.
Also. If I pull the switch to manually turn the headlights on or off, the buzzing noise disappears. This is a very confusing problem, any help would be appreciated

It still sounds like you may also have a wiring issue in the door harness. The reason that the light switch changes things may be because there is wiring in the door harness that goes to the window switch to light it up when the headlamps are on.

Check the wiring inside the harness and see if any wires are broken.

The power windows will not work. When pressing the switches it just makes a buzzing noise next to the master switch on the drivers side. None of the Windows work. Had this problem in the past and fixed by replacing the master switch on the drives side door. I bought a used one which did not work, thought the part may be defective so I bought a new switch and that is also giving the same results. Wondering what else would cause all the windows not to work. Thanks.

Just checked and the passenger windows do not work with the lock out on or off. What bothers me now is that I no longer here the buzzing noise on the drivers side switch. So I am wondering if the circuit breaker has now gone. I know where the breakers are but not sure where the specific one for the Windows are.

Anyway I had the car to the Auto shop last week after I changed out the first master switch. The Mechanic said it wasn't the circuit breaker and thought that maybe the Master switch I bought was also defective which is why I bought the second one. Wondering if there is a secondary reason why the Windows won't work.

Thanks

My 2002 Impala 120,000 miles has a window problem.
One hot day I got into the car depressed window switch and windows would not work. None of them
When I depressed the drivers side window button it would make a buzzing noise.
I replaced the main drivers side switch with a new one. Windows still do not work but the drivers side switch buzzes a little louder than the first one.
I checked the fuses. Is there a breaker possibly?
I am stumped and claustrophobic.

If the switch did not help then the next thing to look at is the window motor.
