I bought this car several years ago and it had 500HP and was a great and fast car. I let it sit for almost 4 years without even starting it. It has 550 injectors and 500 Turbos. We replaced the battery, starter, clutch switch and installed a new fuel pump rated at 750 HP. It will turn over but won't start. It will try if we spray starter in the turbo. The ECU was sent off prior to be rebuilt. We are at wits end. We also put 10 gallons of racing fuel in the gas tank.

Hi,

The idea that it tries to start with starting fluid indicates a fuel-related issue. Have you tried to retrieve diagnostic trouble codes? Since it has been modified, I'm not sure if things were changed, but here is a link that shows how to retrieve codes on this system:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/retrieve-trouble-codes-for-chrysler-dodge-plymouth-odb1-1995-and-earlier-car-mini-van-and-light-trucks

Pay attention to when you are trying to start it. Do you smell fuel which could indicate too much fuel? Also, if you are getting fuel to the engine, we may have to check compression. If the cylinder walls are dry (no oil or washed away oil), it could lower compression low enough to prevent starting. It sat a long time, but should still start.

Let me know if you find any codes or have other questions.

Take care and God Bless,

Joe

You are very welcome. If possible, let me know what you find. Also, if this has over 500 hp, I want to drive it. LOL

Take care of yourself.

I bought it I think in the late 90's and first time I drove it I had to have it. It did 0-60 in under 4 seconds. I loved it and it looked awesome. Does not look like the photos anymore sad to say.

Randy, that is really a nice car. I nearly purchased one back in 2013. I always wanted one. Instead, I ended up with the 37th Viper ever made. It was scary fast, but didn't have the HP your car has.

You take good care of yourself and please feel free to come back anytime in the future if you have questions. You are always welcome here.

Take good care of yourself and don't go over 60 MPH. LOL

I only got one speeding ticket with it. I was on a toll freeway with it years ago and got up to 145 MPH when I realized I was nuts to do that and let off on the gas. I have a family friend who says he has diagnostic equipment to test everything but he is very hard to commit to coming over to test it. The ticket I got was doing 80 at night in a 65 mile per hour zone. The 2 police officers really liked the car but had to give me a ticket.
