I have a 2001 jetta TDI. It seems to be losing a small amount of coolant noticed by the lower level in the coolant tank. I also have a 2005 Jetta which had the same symptoms and had a faulty EGR cooler that was replaced under warranty. I want to troubleshoot my 2001 before I seek repair and want to pressure check the coolant system to see if it holds pressure or has a leak. How much pressure should I use to check the system for leaks? I don't want to use too much pressure and cause damage to the system. Thanks...

You shouldnt have to go much higher than 13- 15 lbs.If its a colant loss problem, inspect the front of the engine underneath the water pump. Sometimes they only leak when engine is running
