1989 Volkswagen Jetta 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

Coil, plugs, wires, cap, and rotor are new. Power to coil with test light. Nothing through wires.

I don't know how to test the little module on the side of distrubutor $85. Could it be that thing or the new coil bad again?

How is secondary on coil tested? How many ohms should coil primary show?

Coil primary and secondary winding resistances

Primary: coil postive terminal to negative terminal should read .52 to .76 ohms and Secondary negative terminal to center of coil should read 2400K to 3500 ohms not sure about this reading though might be inaccurate maybe its 12,400 to 13,500 ohms See below references
