For someone to say thank you for your help it’s greatly appreciated. My truck got vandalized and they cut a lot of the wires that run from the ignition switch in the transponder ring down the steering column into the wiring harness connectors. My question is, I had it working because a friend of mine replaced reconnected all the wires but one of the wires kept falling out so I would have to hold it against the other wire and start it. Well, my friend went to jail and it kept falling out so I was going to solder it and my other friend was helping me and he thought it was a good idea just to redo the wires from the ignition switch connector and now we can’t get it to start again. If you unplug the ignition switch connector does it reset any of the components of the ignition immobilizer? In the second part of my question is, if I use a size or two bigger and wire does that have any effect on it working or not? In the image I also have to call down at 10 to shift out of park and I need to have that fixed before inspection should I just get a new steering column how do I change it out?

Just to start, you do not need to use a larger wire. The larger wire only carries more current and that is not necessary for this system so just stick with the same size wire or at least close but no smaller.

Next when you removed the wires from the immobilizer, was the battery disconnected? If not then the vehicle thinks it is being stolen and shuts down the vehicle.

Here is a guide that helps with resetting the system:

Below is the process from the manual that will help with replacing the steering column.

Please run through this material and let us know if you have other questions. Thanks
