Swapped auto transmission to manual. It had 2 cars, 1 manual and 1 auto. Needed to fit manual transmission into auto so exchanged gearbox etc, with harness. Now it won't start. Thinking I need to bridge a wire or something that went to the gear selector switch but need a pinout for the harness plug to identify the wires.

Hello,

We only have information for petrol model Isuzu Rodeo.
Please check at transmission shift lever pins 1+4.
Ensure that you have 12V when cranking on black/yellow wire.
This wire previously used to run to the clutch start switch.
See images below.

Cheers, Boris

Hi,

I noticed it has been a couple of days since we heard or contacted you. Have you been able to make any progress?

As mentioned, we don't have access to the schematics for a diesel, so I can't confirm if the wire colors in the schematic are correct. However, if the starter isn't engaging, the connector for the neutral safety switch would have been at the transmission. On a manual transmission, the clutch switch is at the top of the clutch pedal.

I'm not sure what harness has been replaced, but do you recall connecting the clutch safety switch at the top of the clutch pedal? We need to get the power supply from the old automatic neutral safety switch into a clutch switch and then power out to the starter relay.

Let me know if this helps or if you have already fixed the vehicle.

Take care,

joe
