I was driving down a slight hill when my engine shut off. I tried restarting it but it wouldn't restart. I had about a quarter tank of gas and it was siting out in the cold for a couple of days prior to driving it if that makes a difference. It usually starts fine in the cold weather with help from an engine block heater. Ive tried starting the truck later with the aid of starting fluid but no luck. The truck cranks but does not turn over I just hope its not dead :(

Have you checked for spark? If you haven't, disconnect a sparkplug wire and ground it to the engine and get a helper to crank the engine over. Are you getting a blue spark? If not check the ignition fuse, check for power at the coil-got power to coil test the coil, distributor pick-up coil and the ignitor

Ok so I removed the top screws off the timing belt cover which was just enough to peek inside and found that the belt had broke. Has anyone have any experience replacing the timing belt? Ive also read that my pistons and valves should not have been damaged is this true? I'm thinking of taking it in to a shop and just wanted to get a few opinions on it thanks.
