Disconnect the negative battery cable.
Disconnect the electrical wiring from the alternator.
Loosen the adjusting lock bolt (lower bolt) and pivot (upper) bolt. Remove the drive belt. It may be necessary to remove other belts for access.

Remove the lower bolt first, support the alternator and remove the upper pivot bolt. Remove the alternator from the car.
Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure. When reinstalling, remember to leave the bolts finger tight so that the belt may be adjusted to the correct tension.
Make sure that the electrical plugs and connectors are properly seated and secure in their mounts. Adjust belt tension and tighten all necessary hardware. Tighten the pivot bolt to 45 ft. lbs. (61 Nm) and the lock bolt to 14 ft. lbs. (19 Nm).
Reconnect the negative battery cable.
Reset any digital equipment such as radio memory and the clock if necessary.

Hi there,

If you are having a problem fitting the Alternator just check that where the main support bolt goes through the alt, there should be a bush that can be tapped back to open the gap so it will mount on the engine, this is self adjusting when you re tighten it,
