1990 Corolla - clutch slipping

Just given this car. Had it checked out. New cylinder for clutch. Everything was checked off. Clutch pedal is very high. Manual Trans. Slips very bad. can I adjust the clutch at home or take it back to mechanic

The fact that the clutch pedal is so high means the clutch is worn out, but to be sure please go over his video.
