When I try to put gas in my car, gas flows for 2 gallons, but then it's stop and go because fuel rises causing the fuel hose to stop. However, if I shoot the fuel into the gas tank, it does not stop. Any idea why the fuel would not flow when the hose in entered as normal. What I mean by shot is I hold the front section of the hose back with my hand and press the handle to dispense fuel.

Hi there,

The fuel tank breather is not working, this is the EVAP system, it can be a bit complex and it may require the removal of the fuel tank, I would get a mechanic to pin point the part of the system that has failed, this will require first hand inspection.
