Some time when I start the car I smell gas, my mechanic says the seal which is around the gas tank may be leaking,
What kind of seal is it (rubber gasket or cork Gasket) ?
Can it be repaired ?

Thanks for your Help

Typically when you first start the car you will smell a bit more raw fuel because your vehicle is in open loop mode. Its not monitoring anything really in the computer and just running off set values. I wont rule out a fuel leak, but if you dont smell it when you turn your key to turn on auxiliaries (not start the car), and the pump is primed. Then I wouldnt be to worried, Still have someone check it out if you believe there is an issue.
