I am replacing the left side head gasket on my 2vz-fe 6 cylinder. I have the head off and the timing belt off and I went to turn the crankshaft around to see if it would and it wouldn't go all the way around, is this normal? It spins freely almost one revolution and I hit a hard spot. What could it be?

thanks for your help, Randy

Did you remove all the sparkplugs if not do so and try spinning it-unable to the piston could be sticking/seized to the cylinder wall or a bend connecting rod-

Dunno the reason why you are replacing the head gasket-it must have overheated-could be hydrolocking-investigate
