Car won't start when it is hot or has been driven over a long period of time. When the key is turned you can hear a faint click but nothing more. If the vehicle is jumped it starts fine. The starter motor and battery are both new. The charging system is working and keeping the battery charged. All the interior lights and headlights are bright but the engine will not start. If the vehicle is left for a time and cools off, it will start. This problem does not occur all the time, but as time goes on it seems to occur more often.

Which problem are you having here? Is it cranking over and refusing to start or half of the time it cranks and doesn't crank at all? Need to know this before we continue.

The vehicle starts and stops with no problem until it get hot, then it won't even crank to start it again. If it is jumped at that point, it will crank. After it has been jumped, it start and stop several time, then nothing. No cranking until jumped again.

Do a starter current draw test this will determine if its the starter-

Next time it does it-hold key at start and bang on the starter if it cranks over replace it-if not could be the starter relay/park and neutral switch/ignition switch

Also retest the battery and connections to inlude the starter side.
