I have the truck located above Lariat with winter tires on rims (265/70/17). I just bought a 2023 F150 Platinum with OEM 275/65/20. I can’t figure out if I can safely use my winters on my new truck. Online tire calculators show the diameter difference as being 4.2% (so shouldn’t be used); however, I see that these 17” winters would work on the 2023 XLT and XL. I’m wondering if the calculators suggest not using them because the speed will be off or if safety would be impacted. If it’s safety, could that be addressed by using Forscan to update the tire size. Any help would be appreciated.

The diameter is almost 3 inches different (7.9%) This will be an issue with the speedometer, the ABS and will be noticeable with the gearing as well. It also looks like the offsets are different so that could be an issue. My interchange shows that the last year the plain steel rims fit was 2014. The 2015 and up show a different part number for the same wheel design.

I made an error in my original post. The OEM is actually 275/60/20. Does that alter your response?

Not enough to really change things. What I might do is pull a front tire off, put one of the other ones on and see if it clears everything, then lower it and try turning the steering and making sure it all clears. They show them as having different offsets than the newer truck, they may hit in actual use. If they actually fit and don't hit front or rear, then you might try changing the tire size.
