tire size question

my truck calls for 255/70R17 112S, but i wonder if P265/70R17 will also fit?

That is a larger and taller tire. The only way you could get away with it is if all four were changed to that size. Even then your speedometer and odometer would read incorrectly.

You will have to make sure you have fender clearance also.
