Timing marks on VCT and cam phasers

What if the marks don’t line up and you turn it a full Revolution and they still don’t line up, but you went back to the position it told you to?

Hello,

Are you replacing the timing chain and tensioners? If so, here are the instructions on how to do so in the diagrams below. There are marks on the chain and crank gear along with the camshaft actuators that must be followed. If the marks are all lined up initially you should be good. Also, do not rotate the engine backwards or it will compress the camshaft actuators which will cause the marks to be off.

Also make sure you replace the chain guides, tensioners, and followers. There is a special crankshaft tool that is needed. Check out the diagrams (below). Let us know what happens and please upload pictures or videos of the problem.
