In the middle of replacing timing belt on my truck. Haynes manual shows a timing belt guide ( looks like a big washer) that slides onto crankshaft. There was no guide on it when I tore it apart ( broken belt was not OEM, so someone has been in it before). Ford does not list one for my year truck, but does for 1996, and back. I am told the washer would to keep the belt from sliding, but I do not see how it could slide (much). Any help would be appreciated.
