So, we replaced the timing belt and the relay switch and have tried everything but the car still will not start. My husband said that it seems like it's not getting fuel but that the fuel pump is working. What else could it be?

Hi,

If you suspect it could be a fuel issue, see if it starts for a couple of seconds and then stalls using starting fluid. If it does, then you will know it's fuel-related.

Also, check to see if there is spark to the spark plugs. Here is a link that shows how that is done:

If you find there is spark and it won't start with starting fluid, we need to recheck the timing. You mentioned the timing belt was replaced. It may not have been properly aligned.

If possible, record the engine cranking and upload it for me to hear. I may be able to tell if it is timing-related.

If you want, here is a link that explains how to test fuel pressure. Also, the other one deals with the most common causes of a crank no start condition.

Let me know what you find or if you have other questions. If needed, we'll check the timing.

Take care and God Bless,

Joe

Hi,

Did you try the tests I suggested? Did it make any difference?

Let me know.
