When trying to start the car all instruments light up then as key is turned to start there is nothing at all, but the MMT light stays on and foot brake feels solid. This happens in December last year but has been fine since until today when it just will not start. Last year I left the car for a day and it just started first time.

Hi,

The MMT stands for multi mode manual transmission. Are you certain the vehicle is in park. Also, when you turn the key to the start position, does it make a click and the lights on the dash go out?

Let me know.

Hi, yes gear stick is in park and all lights on screen go out and hear a click on turn of key. Also break pedal is not depressing as it usually does when starting, but electric windows and radio still work. Thanks

Also, the MMT light does stay on for about 10 seconds.

I need you to have the computer scanned for diagnostic trouble codes. Otherwise, it becomes a guessing game and there are too many variables with this issue.

Here is a quick video showing how it's done:

I realize most people don't own a scanner, but often times a parts store will lend / rent one to you.

Let me know what you find.
