Hi and thanks for using 2carpros.com
If it starts for a couple seconds using starting fluid, then the problem is fuel related. I don't have specific technical information related to this vehicle because it isn't offered in the US. However, I need you to check two things.
First, you need to confirm fuel pump pressure is within the manufacturer's specs. To be honest, this is most likely the problem. The pump most likely failed. Here is a link that shows how to check fuel pump pressure.

If the fuel pump passes the test and is good, the next thing I need you to check are the fuel injectors. Here is a link that shows in general how that is done. You will need to use a test light for this test or a multi meter. Here are three links that show how to use a test light, multi meter, and how to check wiring. The 4th link is how to test the injector.

As I said, this model isn't offered in the US, but we do have the Nissan Versa, which I believe is the same vehicle. However, the only engine option is a 1.8L here. If that is the actual size of the engine in your vehicle, let me know. That way I can provide technical specifications and procedures specific to your vehicle.
Take care and let me know.
Joe
