I replaced the ignition coil connectors. When plugging back in the wires I may have switched two of the wires in cylinder 1. The car is still starting, everything sounds normal, no harsh start or idling.

If two of the wires are switched, will the car still start normally? How can I tell that the wires if the wires are in the correct spot?

Hi,

If you switched them, there would be a misfire from two cylinders. Is the check engine light flashing when the engine is running? Does the engine sound smooth and have a normal amount of power? If so, they are correct. If not, the only way I can help is to provide the wiring color to each coil connector.

At each coil connector, there will be four wires. Three of the four wires will have the same color. It is the 4th wire color that determines the cylinder.

If you look below, I attached a pic from the wiring schematic and highlighted the wire to look for and identified which cylinder it is for. The second pic provides the cylinder locations, so you know for sure you locate the correct one.

Take a look through the pic and let me know if it helps. Also, if you can record it cranking and running, I should be able to tell if there is a problem.

Let me know what you find or if you have questions.

Take care,

Joe
