My sons 95 SL2 starts rough for about 3 seconds and dies. Yes the check engine light is on and the computer does not show any codes. I have changed everything from the EGR, ECTV, Plugs, Coil, starter.I am running out of options! The car went through a large puddle of salt water so yes I know that is the culprit but what have I missed that could be the problem? There is spark, there is fuel. I changed the ECTV because the car was literally flooding the plugs but now that is changed. Is there any sensor or something that relates to fuel that I am missing? Or why it would be so rough and then die? I'm ready to burn the car to the ground! My Nitro race car is less trouble than this damn 4 cyl Saturn! HELP!

U might be getting fuel but if ur fuel pressure was only like 10psi ur car wouldn't start and run very well that's why I asked.U said u replaced the coolant temp sensor is that right? If so which one did u replace the top one with one wire going to it or the bottom one with two wires going to it?How's ur compression?Have u checked all ur fuses inside and out and made sure u had power to both sides of the fuses?

How do I test the pressure? I changed the bottom 2 wire one should I change the top one to? Yes all fuses are good and power on both sides good. I am pulling my hair out on this one. Could there be water in the cat causing a blockage? From the flood? I keep checking online and this seems like one of the suggestions.I took every injector out cleaned up and cleaned the fuel rail I emptied the tank and replaced all the fuel with better gas. Just not sure what is left

U test fuel pressure with a fuel pressure gauge there like 20 for a cheap one.U screw it on the threaded nipple that comes up too ur fuel rail then u crank the engine over a few seconded or turn the key to the run postion for 5 seconds let pressure build and see what ur pressure is.U changed the right coolant temp sensor the top one is just for the temp Gauge has nothing to do with it running. Also when u changed the bottom sensor did u inspect the connector for corrosion? If not u need to do that if it's corroded usually turns green then replace the connector that will skew the temp reading back to the computer.I have also had someone on here replaced the temp sensor and they got a defective one from the store so another thing to consider. Did old sensor have a plastic tip if so was it cracked?Did ur new sensor have a brass tip?Hopefully the palstic tipped ones crack and leak coolant into the connectors corroding them. If u want to see if u have a plugged exhaust all u have to do is drop the down pipe off the exhaust manifold down away from the manifold and see how it runs just don't run it too long like that. Also what exactally happened when u went thru this puddle did it die after this like right after? How big was the puddle? Here's another thing to try hold ur gas pedal all the way to the floor while cranking it too start see if it will start and clear itself this way. Let me know what u find.
