Rattling

My car has recently just started rattling. Kinda sounds like a spray can. Does it at idling and when you get up to 1800 rpms. I have looked everywhere and I just need alil help finding the problems they wanna charge me 86 dollars an hour to look at it please help. It sounds like it coming from the exhaust but not sure in the front if car where on driver side

If this occurs with the car standing still, a good suspect is a loose exhaust heat shield. You can often find them by banging in the area with a rubber hammer.

86 bucks an hour is a good deal. Most shops have to charge around $110.00 per hour. If I showed you my list of the taxes, government regulations, insurances, and the huge page of other expenses they have to worry about, you would wonder how they could stay in business by charging so little.

When you have a rattle or clunk that occurs when driving over bumps, have the steering and suspension systems inspected at a tire and alignment shop. Some will do this for free or for very low cost. This is true more so for Ford products, and especially critical for for Ford front-wheel-drive cars. They have a lot more trouble with front end parts separating leading to loss of control and crashes than most other manufacturers.
