2000 Pontiac Grand Am 6 cyl Wheel Drive Type unknown Automatic 120000 miles

one of the cylinders are getting zero compression.I wanted to know how much would it cost to get it repaired at a dealership? I asked a local place and they said it would go into the 2000 range i'm not very good witt cars so I have no idea if they're right.

Depends on the dealership and why it has no compression. I would reccommend an independent repair shop that does head gasket type of work to find out what is going on. Variety of possibilites.

Did they diagnose the problem or just throw a random guess?
