My dad and I changed the thermostat yesterday and we put more coolant in the car. We replaced one of the radiator fans that stopped working two weeks ago. The car only overheats after driving it and not running it idle. After driving 7 miles into town the car over heated. I only had to pause at a couple stop lights on the way. When I pulled over and checked the fluid level of the coolant it was full and bubbling. After a few minutes it drained but nothing drained on the ground.
My dad and I are at our wit's end and we don't have any money to take it to get repaired at a shop. So far, we've repaired everything ourselves. If someone could please give me some advice I'd really, really appreciate it.

If I understand correctly, the coolant recovery tank was bubling?

Try a new radiator cap, if problem persists, then it may be a headgasket or intake manifold gasket.

A compression test would reveal the problem with a headgasket, and a cooling system pressure test would reveal a intake leak.
