We recently had our alignment done, which we found do be worse than it was before. Then the care would not go in reverse right away, we would have to put it in neutral then pop it into reverse. Now it doesn't want to go into drive as well. We took it back to Firestone and told them the alignment was messed up worse than before and that now we're experiencing the car not going into gear. He said it's a transmission problem. My husband said he thinks they might have messed something up with the drive shaft (although that's not the exact part he said) but it's something along those lines.

What do you think?

Hello and thanks for donating!

What type of alignment are you saying was performed to your vehicle prior to these issues?

The alignment was done because the wheel would go to the right a little bit, but when we got it back it would jerk very hard to the left. So we took it back to them and now it's fine but my husband said he thought it was the cv drive axle. Could that be a possibility that since they totally screwed up the alignment and we drove it like that, that it could cause the car not to go into gear? We plan on taking it to a mechanic but I would like to get other opinions. Thank you for your quick response! :)

Okay, since a front end alignment includes adjusting the angles of the front axle, they could have definitely did a poor job and misaligned them even worse (probably went wrong direction with them). This would definitely cause shifting issues with your transmission.

Okay so my husband is probably right. I just wanted to get some more opinions! We're going to be taking it to an auto shop tomorrow to get solid proof that we took it in and got it checked out and if it was their fault, they're paying for it! Thank you so very much for you help.
