After leaving the transmission shop, it ran fine for 8 miles. Then it died at a stop light. No Engine light. Before it died the oil light flashed twice then it stalled. Then it would crank once then nothing, until it sits for a an hour then crank once then nothing. Good battery & connections, no starter solinoid chatter, fuses good too. I can hear a relay when I turn the key. Don't know if it has a theft system (pretty basic car).

Have you checked the connections on the starter? Battery cables tight? They had the starter out to do the trans, I would check that the cable and trigger wire have good connection at the starter
