I was driving home and the little battery indicator came on and then the ABS light came on and then all of a sudden everything shut down. I got to the side of the road and when I opened the hood I could smell electrical smoke. After I got towed home there was zero anything. Then the next day I had a little light and I tried to jump start the van and everything went back on and when I tried to start the van all I got was just a rather large click like a starter trying to engage, but nothing would start. I was told it could be my alternator and or it could be my starter, but since I can not even get it to turn over would that be a starter issue?
