I have a 88 horizon 4cyl with 160k miles on it. I am pretty sure I need a new head gasket. I am a widow with the usual tools and have done some simple car repairs water pump, starter ect. and have helped with many more. I have contacted mechanics and they are not wanting to do this repair. Is this a repair I can do with a good manual? Thanks

Hi:

It sounds like you've gotten your hands dirty in the past, so with a good manual and some determination, I think you could do it. However, when the head is off, I recommend you have it checked for warping.

If you run into trouble, let me know and I'll try to help.
